Mayumi Ogihara is a self-taught, free-lance artist based in British Columbia, Canada. She was born in Japan in 1965, to an artistic family with wonderful imagination and skills in many different fields. As long as she could remember, she had always loved to work on a variety of arts and crafts, particularly graphite drawing. Prior to becoming a full-time artist, she was often commissioned privately to draw family portraits.
In 2009 Mayumi joined an online art community, where she renewed her passion for drawing and also began to create fantasy art which is a genre she always enjoyed. It was when she decide to pursue her art career. While she continues to love the simple beauty of graphite drawings, many of her newer pieces are completed in full colours. Several of her drawings were included in art magazines and websites, also "Hand Anatomy" was featured on a promotional poster for Anatomy for Life charity art auction event hosted by Brighton and Sussex Medical School and Live Life Give Life in 2013 and 2015.
Her art has been sold to private collectors and fans around the world, and licensed for cross-stitch patterns and PSP tubes. She is now creating colouring pages, and also has published colouring books.
