In modern day Japan the months of the year are simply numbered from one to twelve. However, there are old names for each month that are based on the lunar calendar, and they are sometimes written on Japanese calendars, as well as used in poems or novels.

Each drawing are completed with graphite on 5 x 7 Bristol paper.
